Sacred Heart College is a Marist Brothers school founded in 1889, and was the first boys' high school established in Johannesburg and is situated in Observatory in the quiet heart of Johannesburg. It is distinguished among independent schools in SA by the contribution it has made to fostering an inclusive community within the city and country. The diverse environment created at the College encourages children to benefit from the integration of children and teachers from a variety of ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds. Based on the Marist principles of our founding Saint Marcellin Champagnat, we offer a values-based education that produces children who can think critically, find solutions to challenges and succeed in life. Our ethos secures consistent high performance among both our students and teachers.
